It is my great honour and pleasure to be here today to preside over the opening of the art exhibition "Feel me, Listen to me, Understand me".
The exhibition is a different journey of life through art and is implemented in the framework of an awareness campaign, information and financial support of the free programs of the Pancyprian Association of Rare Genetic Diseases "Unique Smiles".
This collaboration is a source of inspiration and strength. Artists from various artistic disciplines meet children facing rare genetic diseases, create together, communicate through art and remind us of the importance of human connection.
An exhibition that promotes, I would say, a more human-centered and solidarity-oriented dimension in the perception of the emotional expression of art. An exhibition that identifies and shares messages and voices, while highlighting the importance of supporting people facing rare genetic conditions.
The artworks you will see in this exhibition are a testament to the power of expressing diversity. They demonstrate how art can open doors, create bridges and unite people across barriers. And this diverse life journey presented in the exhibition is a reflection of how art can be an embracing force that recognizes the value of each individuality.
Our presence as the Government at today's event of the Pancyprian Association of Rare Genetic Diseases "UNIQUE HAMOGELA" is the minimum support and sympathy for its efforts.
Our presence as the Government at today's event of the Pancyprian Association of Rare Genetic Diseases "UNIQUE HAMOGELA" is the minimum support and sympathy for its efforts. To this group of people who struggle every day to support people with rare diseases, but also their families, to raise awareness and information about the enormous needs they face.
The practical proof of their love and the commendable work they undertook to accomplish, filling a big gap in the field of interdisciplinarity, deserves our admiration and appreciation, ours and that of the entire state. At the moment, the Association is managing 256 cases of people who have been diagnosed with 186 different conditions, which demonstrates the magnitude of their enormous effort.
Of course, warm thanks are due to the 17 artists who stood by these children, embraced them, and "knitted" with them these wonderful art creations that we are inaugurating here at this exhibition. I am sure that the unique smile they gave them through this journey will be an important asset, both emotionally and socially. Through this gesture, these people of culture, with their artistic sensibilities, prove that art is not always a solitary affair, but that it can become even more powerful when it is united with the different, when it is inspired and when it is shaped by the greatness of the soul, together with the innocent, the human and the beautiful.
In closing, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Hermes airports for embracing the effort, as well as all the other sponsors, supporters and partners.
Art really does communicate and unite souls.
We hope that today's initiative, which inspires love and solidarity in all of us, will strengthen the important work of the Association for opportunities for access to high quality specialized treatments for every child.
Good luck and good strength.
