Thank you very much for the invitation to put under my auspices today's event, I am very honoured and I congratulate the Socialist Women's Movement of Paphos for its initiative to organise it again this year, this beautiful Christmas charity event, the net proceeds of which will be donated to the needs of the Kato Pafos Children's Protection and Employment Centre.
It is important that we as the Ministry of State make every effort to facilitate parents with young children to join or remain in the labour market.
Reconciling work and family life is a policy that we emphasise both in our own State Department and more broadly in all Government policies.
All Child Protection and Employment Centres operate throughout the year, all day, afternoons, holidays and vacations, in order to serve working parents, thus enhancing the reconciliation of family and work life.
Through the Recovery and Resilience Plan , we also aim to create new structures for both care and employment.
Ladies and gentlemen,
I want to be brief because today's event is Christmas, it is festive, it is enjoyable and I want to stay in the mood.
My presence here tonight indicates, I believe, the importance that I personally attach to the issue, but also to these initiatives.
And I assure you that President Christodoulides himself, as a father of four children, supports policies and actions that support parents, children, the family.
For the purpose of tonight's event, the Ministry of Social Welfare is contributing the sum of 1000 euros.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
