The Ethics and Sports Protection Committee announces that, during its last meeting, it examined, among others, the complaint of AEL, as well as the Conclusion of the Investigating Officers for the match between Omonia and Doxas and makes the following observations:
[*]AEL's complaint
On 20/12/2021, AEL, in a letter to the Commission, lodged a complaint alleging the existence of a "circuit" of referees and a reference to persons by name and, in addition, questioning the way the K.O.P. regarding the delivery of the VAR intercom to the clubs that they wish.
The Commission, considering the said complaint, due to its seriousness, considered it necessary to invite AEL to provide the necessary details and clarifications on the allegations and accusations made.
AEL, until 5/1/2022 when it was given a deadline to respond to the request, did not react in any way, so the Commission considers that the above complaint has been abandoned.
[*]Conclusion of the Omonia-Doxas match
As already announced on 28/12/21, the Investigating Officers Mr. Stefanos Skordis and Mr. Panagiotis Kailis, who were appointed for this purpose, delivered their Conclusion to the Commission. The Commission has, since then, had the opportunity to study and evaluate it and, by its decision, has adopted it in its entirety.

[*]Some findings arising from the finding, regarding VAR
In addition to the finding recorded, that, during the match, there was unnecessary and unnecessary dialogue, outside the protocol between the VAR operators and the referee team, the Investigating Officers made another very important finding: That not all of the intercom dialogue was being kept, but only excerpts of it.
We consider the above to be impermissible, as it hinders and adversely affects the comprehensive examination of a match. The Commission will immediately intervene with the C.O.P. to change this practice, since the C.O.P. will always, in the context of an investigation, request to receive all the dialogues.
Therefore, since we are aware that many Clubs request to be provided with these dialogues, we state that this matter, namely whether the C.O.P. has such an obligation, does not fall within the competence of the Commission, but within the practice and regulations of the C.O.P.
In this regard, since we are aware that many Clubs request to be provided with these dialogues, we state that this matter, namely whether the C.O.P. has such an obligation, does not fall within the competence of the Commission, but within the practice and regulations of the C.O.P.
[*]Actions of the Commission regarding the finding
In view of the above and, once the Finding has been adopted in which possible disciplinary responsibility has been established for members of the arbitration team, the Commission must, in accordance with the provisions of Article 9 (b) of the Law 180(I)/2017 on Combating the Manipulation of Sports Events, refer the case to the competent bodies for their own actions.
These actions will be taken immediately.
