It is with great pleasure that I participate in today's event. We are all here today to celebrate the opening of an important new chapter for Sky Express, with the naming of its first AIRBUS A321neo aircraft as "CYPRUS".

Dear Mr. Mr. Gryles, as President of the Republic of Cyprus I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart both for your decision to name the new aircraft of the company with the name of our country and for the successful presence of SKY Express in our country, which we consider a valuable partner.

We are proud and it is extremely important for Cyprus that this latest generation aircraft crosses the international skies with the name of our country.

It is really encouraging and promising, in the current environment of international competition, to see dynamic Greek companies, such as SKY Express, investing, growing and actively supporting the economy and the travelling public.

According to Eurocontrol data, SKY Express has emerged as the European airline with the highest growth in terms of flight operations for 2022 compared to 2019 and for this you deserve many congratulations.

It is an undeniable fact that Sky Express is in a phase of continuous and dynamic growth.

Since its establishment in July 2005 until today, it has been on a long journey of prolonged growth, managing to serve a total of 49 routes, providing the public with the choice of Cyprus.

SKY Express is completing three years of successful presence in Cyprus.

SKY Express completes three years of successful presence in Cyprus. It started flights from Athens to Larnaca in 2021, as well as from Thessaloniki to Larnaca and, of course, it continues until today. It has important connections to popular European destinations, supporting the development of our national tourism product and beyond. I have had the opportunity many times to travel to European capitals with you.

The company, as the addition of the two AIRBUS A321 neo aircraft demonstrates, is constantly arming itself with new aircraft, thus declaring its intention to continue to be a leading player.

Its decision to add the new aircraft also demonstrates the company's environmental sensitivity, since this type of aircraft contributes to a 23% reduction in CO2 emissions per kilometre.

These aircraft also reduce the noise footprint by 75% per passenger, making them one of the most environmentally friendly and efficient aircraft available today.

The Republic of Cyprus actively supports the aviation sector, which for us as an island state is an essential and critical sector for the economy and society of our country. Moreover, ensuring good air connectivity for our country is a priority for the respective Cypriot governments.

This year 157 routes were served or are being served by 56 airlines, connecting our country with 39 countries, while our goal for next year is to strengthen air connectivity even further.

In this context, the decision of SKY Express to expand its operations in our country contributes substantially to our efforts and is a vote of confidence for our country.

In this context, the decision of SKY Express to expand its operations in our country contributes substantially to our efforts and is a vote of confidence for our country. I am sure that our cooperation will be strengthened over time, with multiple benefits for all, while at the same time, further improving the connectivity of our country.

In conclusion, Mr. Gryles, I would like to thank you again for your decision to award the name of our country to the new aircraft of your group and I am sure that our cooperation will be further strengthened in the coming years.
