It is with great pleasure that I participate in tonight's inauguration of the new offices of Lythrodonda Community Council. The new offices are a landmark in the history of the community, but also in the events of the Local Government in general, as with the upcoming Local Government Reform, they will host the headquarters of the Mahaira Cluster, which is one of the largest Clusters created in Cyprus through the reform.

The building of the former Co-operative of the community has been granted by the state in 2021 and the Community Council has been working intensively and persistently to ensure that the new Lythrodonda Community Council Offices are ready in time for the implementation of the reform.

The project, which meets all the required building and structural specifications - we will also proceed with its energy design with a grant from the Ministry of Energy - will now be a dynamic centre for administrative services and at the same time will further enhance the Lythrodonda Community.

As a State, as a Government, we attach great importance and priority to rural upgrading and regional development planning projects and we truly hope that the 2024 reform will make a decisive contribution to the development of the Community of Lythrodonda.

As a State, as a Government, we attach great importance and priority to rural upgrading and regional development planning projects and we truly hope that the 2024 reform will make a decisive contribution to the development of the Community of Lythrodonda. And rest assured that there will be challenges.

After all, as I have stated several times, every change and every reform does not come without difficulties, problems and challenges. I want to assure you that in the context of our objective and our priority to improve the quality of life of citizens living in the countryside, but also to promote regional development and social cohesion, we will continue to make every effort to solve any problems, but also to upgrade our countryside.

For our Government, supporting the countryside is a primary objective and we are working methodically in this direction.

For our Government, supporting the countryside is a primary objective and we are working methodically in this direction. Our main task is to ensure that the state provides the local population with the necessary infrastructure and services that will make the everyday life of citizens easier, more comfortable and more dignified.

It is a fact that in recent years the community of Lythrodonda has seen an increase in its population and is one of the few communities in the whole of Cyprus where we see this increase. It harmoniously combines the sense of a semi-mountainous environment with the proximity to the urban centre. In 20-25 minutes you are in the centre of Nicosia. This particularity makes it stand out as a community, and with the opening of the New Community Council Offices, it effectively becomes the core and centre of the Mahera Cluster, with even more promising and more growth prospects.

As a State, we congratulate the Community Council both for the renovation project and generally for all the pioneering development projects it has carried out to date, and I give a promise on behalf of the State that we will always be there to assist and support the upgrading of the area. I believe that by upgrading Lythrodon, we are also upgrading the wider region. I am confident that the upward trend of the community will continue and that Lythrodontas and the wider area will become a model and example for many communities nationwide.

I am sure, therefore, that the days to come will be even better for the community. We will remain by your side, fellow travellers and supporters in your continuous efforts to improve the standard of living, progress and prosperity of the wider region.
