Dear children, ladies and gentlemen, friends,

It is a great pleasure for me to be among you today at this special event for the presentation of the book "Agia Marina Xyliatou" and for the awarding of students of the Community for their excellent performance and other distinctions at school.

The book "Agia Marina Xyliatou" by Dr. Kostas Charalambidis, which will be presented by the renowned academic-historian Giorgos Georgis, captures in its many pages the unique character and the rich history with which the beautiful community in which we find ourselves today is associated. Dedicated to the place and its people, the book, as a result of the thorough research that preceded it, highlights with precision, through the talented pen of the author, the identity of Agia Marina, as it appears through the manifestations of religious, economic, social, educational and cultural life. Of particular importance and value are the photographic material, historical documents and personal testimonies included in the book, elements that enrich and enrich its content, highlighting the love and pride of the inhabitants of the Community for the place that nurtured them and connects them, for the place that is the refuge and tranquility of their souls.

I will not elaborate further since the following presentation by Dr. George will analyze in depth this special publication, which consolidates the preservation of the historical and cultural identity of the community of Agia Marina Xyliatou. I warmly congratulate the President and members of the Community Council of the Community, since as a result of their cooperation with Dr. Charalambides and on the basis of his own thorough research, the new generation will hold in their hands a valuable heritage, a book that illuminates the history of Agia Marina and is part of the folklore of our country.

The Community Council of Agia Marina Xyliatou, aiming to promote the value of excellence and creativity, has established the awarding of prizes to students of the Community for their excellent performance or other distinctions in school. This is another commendable initiative by the President and Council Members as part of their wider action for the progress and well-being of the residents of the Community.

Dear children,

I warmly congratulate you on your success. A success that is the best moral reward for your efforts and reflects as much on you and your family as it does on your entire community. I hope that your awards today will be the impetus for other children to strive for even better performance and achieve new goals.
