The singer, was among the refugees during the Russian invasion of the country and spoke about it on Pame Danae.

Among other things, Jamala revealed the tragic moments that she and her family are experiencing these days, and mentioned the fact that she managed to take her children and reach Turkey.

"What is happening in our home is not just a crisis or a military operation, it is a violent, cruel, bloody and unjust war. No matter how many warnings we may have heard, we could never have believed that it would be something so horrible that could happen in the centre of Europe in the 21st century. At 5 o'clock on the morning of 24 February, Russia launched a brutal invasion of Ukraine. After the first air raid siren and the explosion in Kiev, I ran with my children to the shelter.

I faced one of the most difficult decisions of my life, to leave Kiev. I was in the shelter three times that day and then I decided to go to Chernobyl and then from there to the Romanian border. My husband is there now in Ukraine protecting the country. My husband created a volunteer group to help women and children," the Ukrainian singer said, adding. All my relatives, my musicians are in Kiev, they are scared; sometimes they are hungry, they don't have water or electricity, they don't have internet access. When I saw the video from different areas of Ukraine like Kharkiv or Mariupol, they have been bombed. All the buildings have been destroyed. My trip to Romania lasted about five days. I was on the road with two children. My sons are brave because they helped their mummy to cope with all this."
