While the 16-year-old boy is struggling, shocking details are being revealed about the relationship between the 16-year-old's extended family and his 33-year-old uncle about their great love of hunting.

It was something of a family ritual to initiate the young boys of the family into hunting, relatives and friends of the family tell Greek protothema.gr. The 16-year-old who loved his 33-year-old uncle very much had gone before and other times for hunting just no one could imagine the tragic outcome of yesterday's outing. The uncle of the 33 year old who lost his life in the hunt, unable to believe this tragedy talks to the Greek protothema.gr.

"It was my nephew, my brother's son, George who died. The other child is in intensive care, in critical condition and the doctors are waiting for the first two 24 hours to get a better picture of our Giannakis. There is of course an optimism about his health but we are all chilled and frozen by this tragedy" says the uncle of the late George and continues. As soon as John's father heard the shots, he knew at once that something bad had happened and ran immediately. He fired the rifle at the boy and the father ran to save his son. John pulled the trigger and the father didn't catch him, unfortunately. I hope our John makes it because my brother is in a very bad psychological state. And John's mother is pregnant, expecting the third child of the family and we are all devastated. Our George is gone, at least our John can make it because we can't take it. Hunting for us was our great love, from young children we went to the mountains and hunted. We never expected that this passion would become a lament", concludes protothema.gr the uncle of the 16-year-old boy.
