Hatzipandela was moved by his mother's long battle with cancer "She would be with us right now."
Soul testimony from the Health Minister on his personal experiences with cancer.
Speaking yesterday at a round table discussion, in the context of a conference organised by AKEL on the new European Cancer Strategy and the Cypriot reality, Michael Hadjipandela spoke with emotion about the great battle that his mother fought for ten years with cancer.
And he spoke about the importance of early diagnosis.
"I know first-hand what cancer means because my mother fought it for ten years and I know what early diagnosis means. If there had been early diagnosis for my mother, she would be with us right now."
He said his goal is to strengthen public hospitals and oncology centers.
"The main concern of the Ministry of Health is that cancer patients who continue to fight their battle with the disease with dignity feel that the State can guarantee them reliable, quality and effective care," the Health Minister said, among other things, in his statement.
