The reaction of Attorney General George Savvidis to the letter sent to him by AKEL MP Christos Christofides regarding a rape ring operating in Cyprus was immediate.
Specifically, Mr Christofides had referred to the complaints made in Greece about a ring that drugs and rapes young girls, which, according to them, is also active in Cyprus.
The Attorney General in a post on twitter said that he received the letter and has already contacted the MP.
He noted that "the position of the Legal Service, as I mentioned to him, is that if specific information & evidence of Cyprus' involvement in sexual offences are presented, they will be immediately investigated by the investigating authorities".
