Mitsotakis expressed support for Averof

In a pleasant atmosphere and speaking like two good friends and colleagues, Averof Neophytou and Kyriakos Mitsotakis discussed issues of common interest and current affairs.

At the heart of the discussion could not have been any other topic than the candidacy -and officially- of Averof in the upcoming Presidential Elections, which was announced days ago and confirmed last Tuesday by the Political Bureau of the party.

"We are by your side" the Greek Prime Minister told him and wished him good strength in the race he has started.

I have no doubt that @AverofCY will continue to fight with the same dedication, with the same commitment, for the unity of the Cypriots, for the prosperity of the Cypriot people and of course for the resolution of our great national issue. We stand by him. pic.twitter.com/vinJjy893m

"Dear President, my friend Averof, I welcome you once again to Athens as President of our sister party, the Democratic Rally. You have led the party to successive victories and successes in Cyprus, always guided by responsibility and realism and always striving for the prosperity and well-being of the Cypriot people.

I want to wish you wholeheartedly good luck as a candidate for President of the Republic of Cyprus for 2023. I have no doubt that you will continue to fight with the same dedication, with the same commitment, for the unity of Cypriots for the prosperity of the Cypriot people and of course for the resolution of our great national issue. I want you to know that we are by your side and I wish you wholeheartedly good strength in the struggle you have just started," Kyriakos Mitsotakis said.

Upon his return from Athens where he will have a series of contacts, DISY President and the party's candidate for the presidential elections, continues building his strategy in the marathon until 2023 and starts contacts with other parties and social groups in order to explore the possibility of partnerships and programmatic convergences, as authorized by the Political Bureau.
