The actor wanted to test whether the makeup and prosthetics he wore on his face and body looked real or looked like a "caricature" after all, no one recognized him

To test whether the makeup for the role of Penguin in "Batman" was convincing and successful, Colin Farrell wore it to get coffee!

The well-known actor who plays the "bad" hero of the movie put on his face all the prosthetics for the role, the Penguin costume, did his make-up and on the first day of filming, he went like this to a well-known restaurant chain to see if he convinces people or if he looks like a "caricature".

As he tells Page Six: "The makeup took us about 6 to 8 hours. I had a team of 10 or 15 people on top of me. It was a lot of fun, but I wanted to see if it would convince those around me, those outside the movie."

In the end, the results didn't disappoint. As soon as the actor walked into the café and ordered his usual drink, the saleswoman fixed her eyes on him in wonder.

"I walked in and everyone was looking at me curiously. But not with disgust, with genuine interest. My look excited them. I could tell," he said, adding that no one recognized him.

However, his 12-year-old son Henry didn't have the same reaction when he saw his father dressed as Penguin.

"When he saw me in the costume for the role, he totally freaked out. He was really scared, he didn't like me like that," the actor said, adding that every time he saw him getting dressed for rehearsals, he begged him not to put on all the prosthetics.

Of course, he explains that he is excited about this role, as he has never before been given the opportunity to play a similar character.

"I just worked my imagination and kept doing it every day I went to work. I felt like I had permission to inhabit the body of a wonderful character and I wanted to bring out every aspect of him," the actor concluded.
