"My case was a PhD in sepsis. Twice almost.... I left and they brought me back, the second time I had to be intubated in intensive care," the presenter said
Andreas Mikrooutsikos in an interview with OK! magazine talked about the serious adventure he had with his health, revealing that doctors found a series of cancers in his prostate. The presenter spoke about the three months he had to stay in hospital explaining how his adventure began:
"It started with a persistent fever. I was familiar with fevers since I was a small child because I often had tonsillitis. But this fever was different because it was followed by a tremor. I was shaking. It wasn't high but I had chills and I was shaking and the doctors told me to go to the hospital immediately. At first it looked like a urinary tract infection but after tests it turned out I had a series of cancers in my bladder, prostate. I had a first, simple surgery where it turned out that the problem was more complex and then I had to have a second one. Both surgeries went well. And until today I hadn't mentioned cancer at all because the things I was concerned about were other things. Because in the hospital I got sepsis. So that's where I did battle. The fever wouldn't go down, I was hallucinating, I was seeing walls coming down on me, I was given antibiotics to see how the body would react. When I recovered, I was told I had gone through, three stages with three different germs, my case was a PhD in sepsis. Twice almost.... I left and they brought me back. The second time I had to be intubated in intensive care."
