The Romanian airline Blue Air declared bankruptcy. According to the local media, the Bucharest court granted the request of the low-cost airline on March 21.

As of September 2022, Blue Air had accumulated a €230 million debt, and this does not include the amounts it owes to reimburse passengers whose flights have been cancelled since September.

To recall, the airline suspended flights in September (hopefully temporarily), because the airline's accounts were frozen by the Environment Ministry for failure to meet financial obligations. Later, the Romanian tax authorities seized the company's plane because of unpaid debts.

Blue Air operated flights on many routes from Romania. From Cyprus, they flew to Bucharest.
