I am particularly saddened by the resignation of Foreign Minister Nikos Christodoulides, as he has been one of my close colleagues for many years.
Unfortunately, as developments have taken shape, I had no choice but to accept his resignation.
I thank him warmly for his contribution.
Mr. Ioannis Kasoulides, with a successful and long service in that Ministry, will take over as the new Foreign Minister from tomorrow.
