It was with great sadness that I was informed of the death of my dear friend George Eliades.
George Eliades, apart from being a journalist who left his imprint, was throughout his life an active citizen, a noble and cultured, ethical man, possessing all the elements that make up a unique personality.
I had the pleasure of working with George Eliades as a young diplomat during his service at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and witnessed his excellent character and virtues.
He honoured me with his friendship until the end of his life.
I express my sincere condolences to the relatives of the deceased.
