A review of the policies and actions included in the "National Strategy for the Development of Mountain Communities" will be conducted by a wide-ranging meeting chaired by the President of the Republic Mr. The Ministers of Interior, Justice, Transport, Health and Agriculture have been invited to the meeting which will take place next Monday 14 March. The Deputy Minister of Research and Innovation, the Deputy Minister of State, the Commissioner for the Development of Mountain Communities and officials will also be present.
The policies and actions being implemented by the Government are part of the broader plan being implemented to reverse the wave of urbanisation and the regeneration of mountain areas. The aim of the Government's effort is to make mountain communities attractive places to live permanently for young families, investors and entrepreneurs.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers is scheduled for Wednesday 16 March.
On Friday 18 March President Anastasiades will address the Aphrodite Awards Ceremony of the Paphos Municipality and on Saturday 19 March he will declare the opening of the 14th OPAP Limassol International Marathon CSO Marathon.
On Sunday 20 March he will attend and address the DISY Supreme Council.
