The Council of Ministers met today under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic Mr.Nicos Anastasiades
During the meeting:
- The Council of Ministers approved the accession of the Republic of Cyprus to the International Solar Alliance (ISA), as a member. The International Solar Alliance (ISA) is an international, non-profit platform for cooperation between countries to promote the exploitation of solar energy. Its main priority is to act collectively to address common challenges and develop competitive solar energy programmes to provide cheap and reliable energy, especially to developing countries.
- The Council of Ministers approved the extension until 30 June 2024 of three Business Aid Schemes.[/P]
b) De Minimis Aid Scheme for Cypriot enterprises active in the sectors of Manufacturing and/or Marketing of Agricultural Products for private participation in Exhibitions in Cyprus and abroad.

The beneficiaries are legal entities active in the sectors of (a) processing and/or marketing of industrial products, (b) processing and/or marketing of agricultural products excluding fishery and aquaculture products, and (c) provision of services.
- The Council of Ministers approved the granting of a government residence in the Presidential Palace area to the Cyprus Family Planning Association for the purpose of housing and operating the Centre for the Support and Treatment of Persons who have experienced Sexual Abuse or Exploitation as Children.
- The Council of Ministers approved the granting "as a favour" of financial assistance of EUR 50,000 to the Cyprus Red Cross to cover part of the costs related to its activities, in order to meet the needs of those staying in the Reception/Hospitality Centres for Asylum Seekers.
- The Council of Ministers decided to appoint the new Board of Directors of the National Coordinating Body for the Prevention and Combating of Violence against Women as follows: Aristos Tsiartas, President and Members: Josephine Antoniou, Susanna Pavlou, Anna Matthaiou, Niki Andreou, Maria Tziogurou, Chrystalla Korta, Tania Charalambidou, Evi Nikolaou, Angela Ioakim, Panayiotis Messios, and Andri Andronicou. The appointment is for a period of 3 years with effect from today.
- The Council of Ministers appointed Eleftherios Antoniadis as a member of the Board of Directors of the Research and Innovation Foundation (R&I Foundation) until 2 April 2024, replacing Michalis I. Loozidis, who resigned.
