[PIO] Written statement by the Deputy Government Spokesperson Ms Nivi Parisinou on decisions of the Council of Ministers

The Council of Ministers met today under the President of the Republic Mr.Nicos Anastasiades.

The following decisions were taken:

The Council of Ministers authorised the Minister of Finance to sign the Memorandum of Cooperation with the German company Berater der Ӧffentlichen Hand GmbH (PD). The Ministry of Finance with the support of PD and all stakeholders including the State Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, will update the business plan prepared in 2019, expanding the purposes and responsibilities of the Cypriot entity beyond the original purpose of implementing the digital agenda. They will also contribute to the formulation of a strategic plan, risk assessment, description of the governance structure and all necessary steps regarding the steps for the establishment of new state entities.

The Council of Ministers approved the establishment of a Cyprus Trade Centre in New Delhi, India. It also approved the creation of one post of Commercial Counsellor and one post of Registrar, on field staff terms.

In addition, the Council of Ministers approved the strengthening of the Commercial Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Tokyo with the creation of one post of Assistant Commercial Counsellor, on field staff terms.

The Council of Ministers appointed Mr Andreas L. Papadopoulos as a member of the Board of Governors of the English School of Nicosia in place of Dr George Kasini, who resigned.
