[PIO] Written statement by Mr. Andreas Joseph, Director of the Press Office of the President of the Republic regarding the programme of the President

The meeting of President Nicos Anastasiades with the United Nations Assistant Secretary-General for Europe, Asia and the Americas, at the Department of Political and Peacekeeping Affairs, Mr. Miroslav Yetzia and the event at the Presidential Palace on "Health for All" are the most important activities in the President's busy schedule this week.

During the presentation of the policy pillar "Health for All" a detailed report will be given on the progress of the implementation of the government's programme since 2013 in the health sector and the planning for the implementation of future actions, policies and infrastructure projects, especially those included in the plan "Cyprus - Tomorrow" will be analysed.

Tomorrow, Sunday, 13 November, President Anastasiades will attend the memorial service of the former President of the Republic and founder of DISY, Glafkos Clerides, at the Church of the Wisdom of God, in Strovolos.

On Tuesday, 15 November, at 10 am, the Council of Ministers will meet.

On Wednesday, 16 November, at 11 am, an event will be held to present the work carried out by the Government on the "Health for All" pillar.

During the government of President Anastasiades, the health services provided were radically changed. The GESY was implemented, medical facilities were upgraded, actions and policies were implemented, which focus on the patient and his/her needs.

With the implementation of the GESY, a resilient health care system was created, accessible to all.

The Government is planning other actions some of which are included in the National Plan "Cyprus - Tomorrow".

President Anastasiades will report on the planning for the implementation of future actions, policies and infrastructure projects. In the Plan "Cyprus - Tomorrow", the health sector includes reforms and significant investments that will ensure a resilient and efficient health system, which will provide universal access to high quality healthcare in Cyprus.

On 8.30 in the evening, President Anastasiades will attend the 21st Man of the Year Awards, which will be held at a hotel in Limassol.

On Thursday, 17 November, at 9 am, the President of the Republic will address the 10th Energy Symposium in Nicosia, on the theme: "Cyprus: an energy hub in the Eastern Mediterranean."

Cyprus, due to its strategic location and its excellent relations and long-standing energy cooperation with neighbouring countries at bilateral, regional and multilateral level, is an active part of the energy solutions that the Eastern Mediterranean region has to offer.

Subsequently, at 10.30 am, President Anastasiades will meet with the United Nations Assistant Secretary-General for Europe, Asia and the Americas at the Department of Political and Peacekeeping Affairs. President Anastasiades will reiterate the readiness and will of the Greek Cypriot side to resume the process of talks for the settlement of the Cyprus problem within the agreed UN framework.

Our side's firm position remains the continuation of efforts aimed at the resumption of the process for the settlement of the Cyprus problem on the basis of a Bi-zonal Bicommunal Federation.

On Friday, 18 November, President Anastasiades will receive the annual reports of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection, Ms. Irene Loizidou-Nikolaidou and the Chairperson of the Tenders Review Authority, Ms. Efi Papadopoulou.

At 8 pm, the President of the Republic will address the Gala Dinner of the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry, on the occasion of the Chamber's 60th anniversary.

On Sunday, November 20, at 6 pm, the President of the Republic will address an event on the International Children's Rights Day, which will take place at the Strovolos Municipal Theatre.
