The Department of Labour Relations of the Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance has sent a letter to Kition Ocean Holding, following the decision of the competent contracting authority to terminate the contract for the management and development of the port and marina of Larnaca, calling on the company to immediately fulfil its obligations and to fully comply with the provisions of the legislation on labour issues.
In addition, with regard to the public references to an alleged legal impediment concerning the safeguarding of the employment of workers in the framework of the agreement reached between the Government and the workers' representatives, it is noted that these are not valid.
The procedures for implementing the agreement are already underway and the employment rights of workers will be safeguarded in accordance with the relevant labour laws.
