Announcement of the Legal Service of the Republic
With instructions from the Attorney General to the Chief of Police for The opening of a criminal investigation regarding the possible commission of any criminal offences by members of the Cyprus Shooting Federation and other persons, the relevant findings, as well as the collected testimonial material, which had been delivered to the Prosecutor General by the Ethics and Sports Protection Committee, were forwarded to the Police today.
The findings were forwarded to the Attorney General on 2 November 2023 and 1 March 2024, respectively. Officials of the Legal Service of the Republic, having studied and evaluated all the material, recommended the opening of a criminal investigation by the Police, regarding the possible commission of any criminal offences arising from the events mentioned in these findings.
