The Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Mr Alexis Vafeadis, visited Larnaca Airport today. During the visit, the Minister was given a guided tour of the Airport's facilities by Hermes CEO Ms. Eleni Kalogirou.
In addition, the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works paid a customary visit to the Civil Aviation Department, where he visited the Airport Control Tower and the Air Accident Investigation Committee, and had the opportunity to attend the examination process of the first Cypriot approach radar controller. This is a service whose provision has been a goal of the Civil Aviation Department for decades and was made possible with the catalytic contribution of the Civil Aviation of Greece.
"Airports and airport safety are of paramount importance to us. The controls carried out are in accordance with the standards of the European Union", the Minister said.
