The work carried out by medical and paramedical staff at the Nicosia General Hospital's Centre for Nosocomial Injuries was praised today by the Minister of Health, Dr. Poppy Kanari.
The Minister visited the Centre for Nosocomial Injuries and toured its premises. Addressing the media, Ms Kanari noted that the Nicosia General Hospital's Nerve Injury Centre needs support, strengthening and recognition as a specialised centre by the Health Insurance Organisation (HIO).
The Minister of Health referred in particular to the specialised staff of this Centre and stressed that "this specialisation should be recognised by the HIO and the Centre should be remunerated with a compensation corresponding to the services it offers". Dr. Kanari added that the Ministry of Health will support the Centre for Nosocomial Injuries in this effort, and noted that the aim is to upgrade its role.
