TTAΠρ. Προδρόμου: The Government continuously supports the French Cypriot school, with this year's expansion to accommodate students from Lebanon and the creation of a branch in Limassol=Minister of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth Mr. Prodromos Prodromou visited, together with the Ambassador of France to Cyprus Mrs. Salina Grenet-Catalano, the French Cypriot school, which will celebrate ten years of operation in Cyprus next September. l lIn the context of his visit, the Minister, in his statements to journalists, said: "We are today at the French Cypriot school. This school is a shining example of the very close cooperation between our country and France.] It is in the French Cypriot school that tomorrow's citizens are formed. Whether Greek Cypriots or French or of other backgrounds, modern European citizens who reflect the goal of multilingualism in education. This school prepares tomorrow's citizens who are equipped with all the knowledge to face the challenges of the future. It is with satisfaction that this year we were able to support the school, because it still plays a special role, having managed to welcome children from Lebanon, supporting the friendly country. The school currently has around 450 students and the Cypriot Government has made sure that we have provided everything needed, with an extension of the facilities and equipment, so that we can show our solidarity and welcome students from Lebanon who are facing difficult circumstances. We have had an increase in the student population in the French Cypriot school by almost 50% this year.[ I am glad because in our region, in the Eastern Mediterranean, Cyprus can act as a host country and give the message of cooperation in need, as is currently the case with Lebanon. A TI note, finally, that in cooperation with the French Cypriot school, the Management Committee and the French Embassy, we are working on the expansion to Limassol, with the opening of a branch of the school from September 2022."T A .
