The Minister of Education, Sports and Youth, Ms Athina Michaelidou, visited the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics (INGC) today.

In the framework of her visit, Mrs. Michaelidou had a meeting with the Executive and Medical Director of the INGC, Prof.

At the end of her visit, the Minister of Education, in her statements to journalists, said: "This was an excellent opportunity to see the work of the Institute up close. To say that it is a very good example of the coupling of clinical practice with laboratory practice and research.

The work done at the Institute is particularly important not only for the Higher Education of our country, but also for serving the needs of our patients. More broadly, the role of the INGC relates to many aspects of the social life of our country.

Finally, I emphasize that we support the work of the Institute and will stand by them in whatever they need. I should also mention that we are pleased to see that the services offered by the Institute have nothing to envy the services offered in similar centres abroad," the Education Minister concluded.
