Efforts continue by the Ministry of Health to increase vaccination coverage of the population against COVID-19 and in particular to increase booster dose vaccinations, given its importance in boosting the immunity of population groups most susceptible to serious disease and hospitalization.
Following an agreement between the Minister of Health Mr. Michael Hadjipandela and the Mayor of Lefkara Mr. Sophocles Sofokleous, on Friday 7 January 2022, from 9 am to 3 pm, a mobile vaccination unit will be at the Lefkara Conference Centre to vaccinate the residents of the wider area.
Ministry of Health officials will be on site to inform people about the benefits of vaccination, as well as to answer people's questions and concerns about vaccination.
The following groups of citizens will be only eligible for vaccination by the mobile unit:
- Persons, aged 12 years and above, who have not yet been vaccinated against COVID-19 (administration of 1st dose).
- Individuals, 12 years of age or older, who have received the 1st dose of vaccine Moderna or Pfizer/BioNTech and the period required for the 2nd dose (Moderna 4 weeks and Pfizer 3 weeks) has elapsed.
- With regard to booster/3rd dose vaccination, persons aged 18 years and over will be served, provided that a period of 5 months and 2 weeks has elapsed since their 2nd dose vaccination.
- For persons who have received the Johnson&?Johnson, will be able to receive a booster dose with the same vaccine or with a mRNA technology vaccine (Moderna)
Please note that all persons must necessarily present proof of identification (identity card, passport, alien registration card, etc.) and the vaccination card if they will receive the 2nd or 3rd dose.
