[PIO] Vaccination of vulnerable groups against Covid-19 and influenza

The Ministry of Health, as part of its efforts to contain Covid-19, due to the outbreak observed in recent weeks, recommends vaccination as the most effective way to prevent and protect against serious disease.

Therefore, immediate vaccination with the updated Covid-19 vaccine and the influenza vaccine is recommended, especially for people over 60 years of age and people with underlying diseases.

In particular, it is recommended that residents of nursing homes and other closed care and accommodation facilities for the elderly and vulnerable groups adhere to prevention and protection measures. It is further recommended that they are vaccinated against Covid-19 with the updated vaccine, with consent from relatives where necessary.

In addition, a revisit by mobile vaccination units to all nursing homes and closed structures is planned within the next few days for simultaneous vaccination against influenza and Covid-19 or Covid-19 only.

In addition, it is recommended that the general population adhere to preventive measures against respiratory viral infections such as hand hygiene, systematic ventilation of confined spaces, isolation of sick persons, continuous use of masks especially in crowded areas, limiting contact with vulnerable persons and carrying out diagnostic tests.

The implementation of preventive protection measures and vaccination is important for the protection of all and especially of vulnerable groups of the population.
