In the context of recording data from the Health Surveillance Unit, the Ministry of Health has proceeded to update its database on patient deaths, having recorded and verified all data reported in previous months to the Epidemiological Surveillance Unit.
As part of this audit, it appears that the total number of patients who died with a terminal cause of COVID-19 up to 2 March 2022 is 864 and not 861,[/B] as stated in yesterday's daily statement.
Specifically, the 3 deaths that were reported late relate to:
Female, age 60, who died on 04/13/2021
Female, age 87, who died on 04/15/2021
Female, age 60, who died on 02/12/2021
Therefore, as of today's daily announcement, new deaths with an underlying cause of death of COVID-19 will be added to the total number of 864. Of these, 532 are men and 332 are women.
The Ministry of Health updates its databases at regular intervals in order to ensure the correct and comprehensive recording of epidemiological surveillance data. For transparency purposes, the Ministry of Health will inform about any new data it records.
