[PIO] Update of the total number of patients who died with a terminal cause of COVID-19 disease

As part of the annual recording of data by the Health Surveillance Unit, the Ministry of Health has updated its database on patient deaths, having recorded and verified all data reported in previous months to the Epidemiological Surveillance Unit.

As part of this audit, it appears that the total number of patients who died with a terminal cause of COVID-19 up to 24 February 2022 is 841 and not 834,[/B] as stated in yesterday's daily statement.

Specifically, the 7 deaths that were reported late relate to:


[*]Female, aged 64, who died on 04/03/2021 [*]Male, aged 81, who died on 29/03/2021 [*]Male, aged 81, who died on 02/05/2021 [*]Male, aged 77, who died on 24/05/2021 [*]Female, aged 62, who died on 27/05/2021 [*]Male, aged 86 years, who died on 03/06/2021 [*]Female, aged 81 years, who died on 12/08/2021

Therefore, as of today's daily announcement, new deaths with COVID-19 as the underlying cause of death will be added to the total number of 841. Of these, 522 are males and 319 are females.

The Ministry of Health updates its databases at regular intervals in order to ensure correct and comprehensive recording of epidemiological surveillance data. For transparency purposes, the Ministry of Health will report any new data it records.
