The Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment announces that today, Thursday, April 18, 2024, at 15:45, a fire broke out in the location "Laoni of Palloura" of the municipality of Parekklisia.
The intervention of the forest firefighting forces was immediate, resulting in the fire being brought under control at 16:45, burning an area of one decimetre with dry grasses and low wild vegetation.
Eight members of the Forestry Department with three fire engines participated in the extinguishing operation.
The cause of the fire was the use of a cutting tool (emery).
