The Cyprus Rural Payments Agency attaches particular importance to the continuous training and upgrading of its technologies, as it needs to assist and support applicants directly and effectively. Recently, several training sessions have been held for the Agency's controllers in the use of new software to conduct quick visits in the framework of the Application of the Agricultural Land Monitoring Process (Monitoring). The training, which took place in Larnaca's Kalo Horio and the Nicosia Training Centre, was attended by controllers from all provinces of Cyprus, who had the opportunity to use the relevant software in the field. After a short briefing on the procedure and the necessary explanations, the auditors were given a free use of the software in order to provide feedback and comments for its improvement.

The Agency attaches great importance to the continuous training of its staff and the renewal of its equipment, especially when it comes to new technologies expected to be implemented in the near future, in order to be able to comply with its regulatory obligations and to execute regular payments. With the implementation of the NEW CAP from 01/01/2023, the Agricultural Land Monitoring becomes mandatory for a significant number of interventions included in the Cyprus Strategic Plan and the Agency is working feverishly to be ready in time both for its implementation and for the guidance of farmers with the ultimate aim of minimising irregularities and maximising the disbursement of European funds.
