Easter is approaching and the Consumer Protection Service, aiming to promote safety, especially for children, will carry out a control and information campaign on children's toys, whose demand and use is increased at such times.

The campaign will take place during the period 15/04/2024 - 26/04/2024 and during the campaign it is planned to check more than 120 toy retail outlets nationwide, in order to identify non-compliant toys and take the necessary measures. The checks will also cover toys sold together with Easter candles and Easter (chocolate/plastic) eggs. At the same time, economic operators will be informed.

The Service will continue to inform consumers in order to protect their health and safety more effectively. As part of the campaign, an information leaflet entitled "Tips for Easter" has been prepared and posted on the Service's website. The brochure offers useful advice on choosing and using toys, candles and Easter eggs, products which are in high demand at this time of year. Further, it is recalled that there is a leaflet entitled "Dangers of small objects" posted on the Service's website, which offers guidance on how parents can control small objects in the environment of children up to three years old to keep them away.
