Source of Data and Coverage
The data are derived from the Traveller Survey which is conducted at arrivals and departures at Larnaca and Paphos airports. In addition, data are also collected from administrative sources such as monthly arrivals from the ports.
The data cover all persons passing through passport control at the ports and airports of Cyprus and refer to the State-controlled areas. They do not include travellers arriving and departing illegally through ports and airports in the occupied area of Cyprus.
The extrapolation of the data is based on data sent to the Statistical Service by the Civil Aviation Department and from ship passenger lists, as well as data sent by the Analysis and Statistics Bureau of the Cyprus Police.
