The per capita expenditure of tourists in April 2024 amounts to €651.69 compared to €634.89 in April 2023, an increase of 2.6%.

British tourists (the largest tourist market with 35.3% of all tourists in April 2024) spent an average of €81.21 per day, while Israeli tourists (the second largest tourist market in that month with 10.7% of the total) spent an average of €140.03. Tourists from Poland (third largest market with 7.6%) spent €80.67 per day.

Methodological Information
Definitions
Tourists: Visitors staying at least one night in Cyprus.
Tourist arrivals: The term refers to the number of visits and not to the number of persons. This differs in the sense that a person may make more than one visit in the given reference period.
Tourism receipts: They refer to the revenue generated by tourists during their trip to Cyprus.
Data Source and Coverage
The data on tourist expenditure are derived from the Travelers' Survey, which is conducted at the departure lounges of Larnaca and Paphos airports. The data is collected through personal interviews using an electronic questionnaire (CAPI - Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing method).
The data refers to the areas controlled by the State. They do not include travellers arriving and departing illegally through ports and airports in the occupied area of Cyprus.
