[PIO] The work of the first part of the 2024 session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has begun

The first part of the 2024 session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) began today in Strasbourg, during which the credentials of the PACE national delegations for the current year were approved. The Cypriot delegation, for the year 2024, will consist of MPs Nikos Tornaritis (head), George Loukaidis, Christiana Erotokritou and Kostis Efstathiou.

The plenary unanimously elected the Greek MEP Theodoros Roussopoulos, from the political group of the European People's Party, as the new President of the Convention. During a reception hosted by the Permanent Representation of Greece to the Council of Europe, Cypriot MEPs congratulated Mr Roussopoulos on his election and expressed their full support for the work he is undertaking.
