The Vice-Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE CSO) and Special Representative of the CSO. Mr Kyriakos Hatzigiannis, OSCE Secretary General for South-Eastern Europe, is leaving today for Albania to participate in the Assembly's Inter-Parliamentary Forum on Wider Cooperation in the Western Balkans, which is taking place on his initiative on 13 and 14 April.
The main topics of discussion at the Forum, which brings together parliamentary delegations from South Eastern European countries, are the European integration of the Western Balkan countries, the issue of migration, the attraction of foreign investment in the region, demographic depopulation and the brain drain from the region, as well as measures to mitigate this phenomenon through the promotion of scientific diplomacy.
The opening session will be welcomed by the President of the Albanian Parliament Mrs. Lindita Nikolla, the head of the Albanian delegation to the C.A.C. Mr. Damian Gjiknuri and the Vice-Chairman of the OSCE JC. OSCE Chairperson and Special Representative for South-Eastern Europe Mr. Hatzigianni. Keynote speakers at the Forum will be Ms. Majlnda Dhuka, Deputy Minister of State and Chief Negotiator for Albania's accession negotiations and Ms. Clarisse Pasztory, Deputy Head of the OSCE field mission in Albania.
In addition, during his stay in Tirana, Mr. During his stay in Tirana, Hatzigiannis will have separate meetings with a representative of the Albanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with academics, with representatives of non-governmental organizations and with representatives of the Greek diaspora.
