The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mrs. The Speaker of the Parliament wished him good strength and success in the difficult mission he is undertaking and expressed the readiness of herself and the Parliamentary Committee on Defence to assist him in his work.
During the meeting, the Speaker, referring to Turkey's provocative actions on the territory and the Exclusive Economic Zone, praised the work of his predecessor and expressed confidence that the new Chief will work to further strengthen the defense armor and deterrence capability of the National Guard. He stressed that the circumstances do not allow for complacency but require preparedness and expressed confidence that the new Chief will fully respond to the fulfilment of the National Guard's mission to safeguard security, defend the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic. Further, the Speaker expressed the view that a unified front should be created to manage challenges and upgrade cooperation with other states on defence and security issues.
The new Chief of the National Guard, expressing his thanks to the Speaker of the Parliament, assured her that he fully understands the weight of his responsibility and expressed his readiness to carry out with consistency and determination the task entrusted to him.
