[PIO] The Speaker of the House of Representatives received representatives of the Cyprus Association of Dietitians and Nutritionists

The Speaker of the House of Representatives Mrs. Anita Demetriou held a meeting today with representatives of the Association of Dietitians and Nutritionists of Cyprus (SYDIKY), during which she had the opportunity to be informed about the work and actions of SYDIKY. She was also informed about the challenges and problems faced by this sector, stressing the need to promote the amendment of the relevant legislation to include the specialty of nutritionist, but also to define the system of licensing and control of food scientists, food technologists, dietitians and nutritionists practicing the profession in the Republic for the purpose of protecting public health.

For her part, the Speaker of the Parliament, recognizing the very important role played by the Association of Dietitians and Nutritionists in the field of nutrition and food safety, said that it is important to ensure the protection of public health.
