Workshop organized by the Academy of Legal Services, the Cyprus Bar Association and the Department of Law of the University of Cyprus
Workshop on "The role of the European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO) in the criminal protection of the financial interests of the European Union", co-organised by the Academy of the Legal Service of the Republic of Cyprus, the Cyprus Bar Association and the Department of Law of the University of Cyprus, on Wednesday 22 May 2024, at the University of Cyprus.
The conference will be honoured with the presence of the European Attorney General Mrs. Laura Codruța Kövesi, who will deliver the opening speech, while the Attorney General of the Republic Mr. Mr. George L. Savvidis, the President of the Cyprus Bar Association Mr. Michael Vorkas and the Vice President of the Department of Law of the University of Cyprus Professor Aristotle Konstantinidis.
In addition to Ms Kövesi, the European Public Prosecutor Ms Annie Pantazi will make a presentation on the topic "Operation of a single office, procedure and ongoing case law", while the European Public Prosecutor Ms Andri Constantinou will present the topic "Establishment of the European Public Prosecutor's Office, its role in the national criminal procedural order and the operation of the office in Cyprus".
The activity is part of the lifelong learning programme of the Legal Service, and is also part of the continuing professional education of lawyers.
