The Rapporteur of the Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on "Call for the return of Famagusta to its lawful inhabitants", Italian MP, Mr. Piero Fassino, arrives in Cyprus on Monday for a second working visit, from 13 to 16 May 2024. Mr Fassino will be accompanied by the Secretary of the Commission, Mr Pavel Chevchenko.
During his stay here, Mr Fassino will be received by the President of the Republic Mr Nicos Christodoulides and by the Speaker of the House of Representatives Ms Anita Demetriou. He will also have a working lunch with the members of the Cypriot delegation to the CSTO, Mr George Loukaidis and Ms Christiana Erotokritou.
Mr Fassino will also have a meeting with the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General and Head of the UN Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus, Mr Colin Stewart.
Mr Fassino's final report and resolution will be put to a vote by the Plenary at the Third Session of the CSTO next June.
