The situation in the Middle East, the Cyprus problem and bilateral cooperation, especially in the fields of energy, investment and education, will be the focus of the contacts to be held by the President of the Republic Mr.
President Christodoulides leaves for Doha tomorrow afternoon and will be officially received by the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, at the Palace on the morning of 27 November.
President Christodoulides will leave for Doha tomorrow afternoon and will be officially received by the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, at the Palace on the morning of 27 November. A private meeting will follow, followed by a meeting between the delegations of the two countries.
Later, in the presence of the President of the Republic and the Emir of Qatar, a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation between Cyprus and Qatar in higher education will be signed.
Subsequently, the Qatari leader will host a lunch in honour of the President of the Republic.
On Monday afternoon, President Christodoulides will hold various other contacts and visit the Expo 2023 "Green Desert, Better Environment" exhibition.
The President of the Republic will be accompanied during his contacts in Doha by the Deputy Minister to the President Mrs. Irene Piki, the Director of his Diplomatic Office Mrs. Marilena Rauna, the Deputy Government Spokesman Mr. Yiannis Antoniou, the Ambassador of the Republic to Qatar Mr. Nicolas Manolis and the Political Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ms Thessalia-Salina Siabou.
The President of the Republic will return to Cyprus on the evening of 27 November.
