The President of the Republic Mr.Nicos Christodoulides will be in New York from 16 to 23 September, where he will address the 78th General Assembly of the United Nations.
During his stay in New York, the President of the Republic will have a meeting with the Secretary-General of the United Nations and will hold a series of bilateral contacts with his counterparts, will attend institutional, multilateral meetings of the United Nations, and will have meetings with the heads of the European Council and the European Commission, as well as with representatives of energy and investment organizations.
Among other things, the President of the Republic will attend, on 18 September, the opening of the Sustainable Development Summit, which will be chaired by, among others, the President of the 78th General Assembly and the Secretary-General of the United Nations. [ON THE SAME DAY, AND THROUGHOUT HIS STAY IN NEW YORK, THE PRESIDENT WILL HOLD A SERIES OF BILATERAL MEETINGS WITH HEADS OF STATE AND GOVERNMENT AT THE UNITED NATIONS BUILDING.
On 19 September, President Christodoulides will attend a reception hosted by the Secretary-General of the United Nations in honour of the Heads of Delegations of the States participating in the General Assembly, followed by the opening of the General Debate of the Plenary Session of the 78th General Assembly, which will be addressed by the Secretary-General of the United Nations.
In the evening, the President of the Republic and his wife, Mrs Philippa Carcera Christodoulides, will attend the reception hosted by the President of the United States of America and his wife in honour of the participating leaders of the General Assembly.30 p.m. Cyprus time), the President of the Republic will address the 78th United Nations General Assembly.
On the same day, the President of the Republic will have a meeting with the Prime Minister of Greece, Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
On the 20th, President Christodoulides will also have separate meetings with the President of Chevron International, Mr. Clay Neff, and with the Executive Director of the AJC (American Jewish Committee), Mr. Ted Deutch.The following day, the President will attend a working breakfast with a delegation from Ernst and Young, and later will receive a delegation from CVC Capital. He will also meet with a delegation from EXXON.
On 22 September (7.10 p.m. Cyprus time), the President will have a meeting with the United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres at the Office of the Secretary General.
At noon on 22 September, the President of the Republic will attend a working lunch with representatives of the five Permanent Members of the UN Security Council, while in the evening he will attend a dinner hosted in his honour by the Federation of Cypriot Organizations of America, and will address an address.
Finally, on September 23, the President of the Republic will go to Queens College, where a special ceremony will be held in his honour, and then he will attend and address the National Conference of the Federation of Cypriot Organizations of America. Konstantinos Kombos, the Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letibiotis, the Director of the President's Diplomatic Office, Marilena Raouna, the Deputy Director of the Diplomatic Office, Doros Venezis and other officials.
