[PIO] The President of the Republic will have a meeting with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe

The President of the Republic Mr.Nicos Christodoulides will have a meeting on July 1 at the Presidential Palace with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe Mrs.Marija Pejčinović Burić, who will pay an official visit to Cyprus from June 30 to July 2.

The Secretary General of the Council of Europe will have a private meeting with the President of the Republic, which will be followed by a working lunch.

The meeting will discuss, among other issues on the Council of Europe's agenda, the situation in the Cyprus problem and the ongoing efforts to resume the dialogue, the management of aspects of the 4th Cyprus Interstate Complaint against Turkey, the Turkish violations of the status quo of the enclosed city of Famagusta, as well as the situation in Ukraine and the Middle East.

As part of her official visit, the Secretary General of the Council of Europe will deliver a lecture to the members of the Diplomatic Academy and have a meeting with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, as well as with the Mayor of Nicosia.

The Secretary General of the Council of Europe will depart from Cyprus in the morning of 2 July.
