President of the Republic Nicos Christodoulides will hold a meeting with the President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola today, October 1, at the Presidential Palace, while together they will attend the military parade that will be held on the occasion of the national anniversary.
This is the first time that the head of a European institution will participate in the celebrations of the anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Cyprus.
In particular, President Metsola will be at the Presidential Palace on Sunday morning, 1 October, where she will be officially received by the President of the Republic.
A private meeting will follow, after which the two Presidents will hold extended talks with their delegations.
Later, they will make statements to the media.
The President of the Republic will then receive the salute of the military parade, which President Metsola will also attend.
During her stay here, Mrs Metsola will also have a meeting with the President of the House of Representatives, Mrs Anita Demetriou, and will visit EU House.
