The UAE is an important political and economic partner for Cyprus, President Nicos Anastasiades said.
In his address at the Business Forum, which was held today at the EXPO venue in Dubai, in the framework of the International Day of Cyprus, which was delivered by the Minister of Finance, Mr. President Anastasiades said, among other things, that the vision of the Cyprus Government is to transform Cyprus into a model of a resilient state through a holistic development plan.
He also referred extensively to the Government's reform programme in various sectors, which contributes to the growth of the economy and the enhancement of investment.
He added that over the years Cyprus has developed into a regional centre for international business and investment.
Making Cyprus the next European business and trade centre is the focus of our efforts, the President said, noting that to achieve this a comprehensive strategy for investment facilitation must be implemented.
In this context, he added, we are implementing a new government strategy for attracting international companies and talent to Cyprus consisting of a series of incentives.
He also underlined that the UAE is an important political and economic partner for Cyprus, which has many opportunities to offer the UAE in the investment sector, while assuring of the Government's willingness to provide facilities to this end.
