[PIO] The President of the Republic signed the Book of Condolences on the death of the Emir of Kuwait

The President of the Republic Mr. Nicos Christodoulides signed today the book of condolences opened at the Embassy of the State of Kuwait in Nicosia on the death of the Emir of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Nawal al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

In his message, the President of the Republic wrote the following:

"It is with deep regret that I express my sincere condolences to the Royal Family, the Government and the people of the State of Kuwait on the death of Emir Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

Both the State of Kuwait and the wider region have lost a charismatic leader and a valued partner, whose lifetime dedication to his country and his steadfast commitment to regional peace and prosperity are a tangible example of his great legacy.

In these moments of deep sorrow, I am convinced that the Republic of Cyprus and the State of Kuwait will continue to work to further strengthen their bilateral cooperation in the spirit and guidance of the former Emir's desire for mutual understanding and respect for dialogue, continued progress and lasting peace."
