The President of the Republic Mr.Nicos Christodoulides received today at the Presidential Palace the annual report of the European Court of Auditors for 2022 from the Member of the European Court of Auditors Mr.
Delivering the report, Mr Christoforou said, among other things, that the Court safeguards the interests of European citizens and ensures that every last euro is used, noting that Cyprus is among the countries that use these funds.

As he said, the report concerns the revenue and expenditure of the European budget and the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism.
For his part, the President of the Republic said, among other things. We are proud that our country is among the top four in the absorption of funds and we will do everything possible to strengthen this", President Christodoulides said.
Christodoulides added: "In our previous meetings we had an extensive exchange of views on the Recovery Fund, which we all know its importance at a difficult time for Member States. As the Republic of Cyprus we are doing everything possible to make use of the opportunities presented through the fund."
He added that the recovery fund is an important vision of the EU, which helps member states and is a guide to achieve the green transition and digital transformation, which are priorities.
He also said.
According to the President of the Republic, the previous government's approach to the memorandum was very correct and he praised the role of then Finance Minister Harris Georgiades.
Finally, he said that "the Republic of Cyprus will continue to have a strong presence in the EU", noting that "our accession to the EU is the most important success of the Republic of Cyprus since its foundation".
