[PIO] The President of the Republic received a congratulatory message from the President of the USA on the occasion of the Independence Anniversary

The President of the Republic Mr.Nikos Christodoulides received a congratulatory message from US President Joe Biden on the occasion of the Independence Anniversary of the Republic of Cyprus.

In his message, President Biden states the following. Together we advance these principles, including promoting stability in the Eastern Mediterranean, enhancing energy security and expanding economic growth.

The United States also remains firmly committed to a comprehensive settlement that unites the island in a bizonal, bicommunal federation with political equality for all Cypriots, a peace that opens up the island's full potential as well as greater opportunities for future generations.

As partners in progress, I look forward to further strengthening our relations as we continue to build a better world and address the challenges that are most important to the lives of our peoples. I wish you and all Cypriots a year full of peace, prosperity and opportunity."
