The President of the Hellenic Republic, Mr.Nikos Christodoulides, is participating today in the work of the Climate Change Summit (COP28) being held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Upon his arrival this morning at the Dubai Convention Centre, President Christodoulides was welcomed by UN Secretary General António Guterres and UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Immediately afterwards, the President of the Republic took part in a family photo with the leaders of the countries taking part in the Summit and then participated in the opening session of the World Climate Action Conference.
Afterwards, the President of the Republic will hold bilateral meetings with heads of state at the Climate Change Summit.
In the afternoon, he will visit, among others, the Greek Pavilion at the Summit. He will then participate and intervene in an event on the margins of the Summit, where he will review the progress made since the Paris Agreement.
He will then make a National Statement (short address) at the Plenary Session of the Summit and this evening he will attend a reception hosted by the President of the UAE.
